Fintech architecture review
A structured assessment of payment paths, ledger boundaries, and control points before or during a major build.
Who this is for
Engineering and product leads in payments, lending, wallets, or remittance who need an independent read on whether the proposed application architecture will survive regulatory scrutiny and operational load.
Result
You receive a concise architecture brief: system context diagrams, control-gap list, sequenced remediation, and a short verbal walkthrough with your technical and compliance stakeholders.
Scope included
- Mapping of fund movement, identity checks, and ledger write paths
- Review of segregation between customer money, operational accounts, and partner interfaces
- Assessment of reconciliation points and evidence trails useful for APRA/ASIC conversations
- Prioritised recommendations with effort hints (not a full project plan)
Scope excluded
- Hands-on coding or pull-request delivery
- Formal legal advice or licence applications
- Penetration testing or SOC audit certification
Provider and process
Sessions are led by a PortalForest principal consultant. Typical rhythm: discovery call, document and diagram review, two facilitated workshops, draft brief, and a final walkthrough.
Timeline and delivery
Most reviews complete in two to three weeks depending on access to diagrams and subject-matter experts. Delivery is remote-friendly across Australia, with optional sessions at our Adelaide office.
Preparation
Share current architecture diagrams, a short product narrative, known regulatory obligations, and any open audit findings. If diagrams are incomplete, we start by drawing them with you.
Constraints
We do not rubber-stamp designs that leave customer funds without clear ownership or reconciliation. If the review surfaces blocking issues, the brief will say so plainly.
Pricing basis
Fixed fee by engagement size (single product line vs multi-rail platform). See Rates for starting figures, then request a scoped quote.
Next step
Request an architecture review and note your payment product type and any upcoming audit window.
